Kolkata, Oct 14: While most of the accused in connection with the Durgapur gang rape case were nabbed, the West Bengal Police on Tuesday conducted the crime scene recreation, taking a key accused to the spot that is in a forest near the Medical College.
According to reports, police taking one of the kingpins to the crime spot, recreated the crime scene in the Durgapur forest.During the recreation Deputy Commissioner of Police and the investigating officers recorded the modus of operandi that the accused youth demonstrated on the spot.
The West Bengal police have so far arrested as many as five accused persons and detained the boy friend of the survivor, an Odia, allegedly for his dubious behaviour during interrogation.
The five accused identified as Sheikh Safiqul, Sheikh Reajuddin, Firdos Sheikh and Apu Bauri, are on police remand for further investigation.
Worth mentioning, an MBBS 2nd year student from Odisha’s Balasore was gang raped on Friday while she was out for dinner with a friend from a private medical college in Durgapur.
