Baliguda, Feb 5: The State-Level SDAA Cup Football Championshiphas been inaugurated at the Baliguda Mini Stadium in Kandhamal district. The tournament is organized by the Baliguda Sub-Division Sports Association. A total of 8 football teams are participating in this competition, with the opening match played yesterday between Sambalpur FC and Diamond Club Khordha.
The inauguration event was graced by the Chief Guest, Pranita Das, the Sub-Collector of Baliguda, while the honored guests included SDPO Shubham Bhosale, PIITD Kriapasindhu Behera, and Tahsildar Dipti Prakash Behera.
In yesterday’s opening match, Sambalpur FC defeated Khordha Diamond 4-1, securing a place in the semi-finals. The final competition is scheduled to take place on the 11th of this month.
The event witnessed participation from various prominent figures, including Vice President Satya Narayan Padhi, Editor Dr. Sushant Kumar Das, Sports Editor Shibananda Pattnaik, Srinivas Dora, Adviser Sekh Sadik, Surendra Patra, Deba Brata Singh Deo, and Surya Suar, along with members of the organizing committee.
The event has sparked enthusiasm among the local football fans, who are eager to support and witness the ongoing competition in the region.
