Kandhamal, Dec 5: The Kandhamal District Transport Department and Udayagiri Police recently conducted a special drive to curb overloading of vehicle and violation of safety norms at Kalinga Ghat as part of efforts to curb traffic violations and improve road safety in the region. The operation aimed to crack down on several issues, including overloading, passenger safety, and non-compliance with traffic regulations.

Several vehicles were found to be violating key safety protocols. Passenger vehicles were carrying excess load, and passengers were found sitting on top of the vehicles, which is a clear violation of safety rules. Additionally, drivers of many vehicles were not wearing seat belts, and many vehicles lacked the necessary documents required for operation.

As a result, fines were imposed on multiple vehicles for these violations. The authorities emphasized that these inspections are a direct response to the increasing number of road accidents in the region. With road safety becoming a growing concern, the district authorities are taking strict measures to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure that all vehicles comply with safety norms.

Officials have stated that the inspections will continue, and further stringent actions will be taken against those who violate traffic laws. The authorities are committed to improving road safety and preventing accidents in the future.
