Bhubaneswar, Feb 6: A late-night drama unfolded at a hotel in Bhubaneswar’s Gandamunda area under the Khandagiri Police limits when a group of miscreants, enraged over being denied a room, vandalized the hotel and assaulted the manager.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a few intoxicated people arrived at the hotel late at night and requested rooms. The hotel manager, however, informed them that no rooms were available. Enraged by the refusal, the miscreants reportedly became violent, damaging hotel property and beating the manager.

The assault resulted in the manager sustaining a severe head injury. It is also alleged that the miscreants attempted to kidnap the manager during the altercation.

Upon receiving the information, Khandagiri police promptly arrived at the scene and took swift action. Four persons involved in the attack, along with a Scorpio vehicle, were arrested. Police have also questioned the hotel owner and staff, and examined the hotel’s register as part of the investigation.

Authorities have launched a further probe into the incident to determine all the circumstances surrounding the attack.
