Patna, Nov 20: One of the iconic sons of the Bihar soil, Nitish Kumar emerged as the 10-time CM of Bihar, with the swearing-in ceremony held on Thursday at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.

With the unprecedented feat, Nitish Kumar dazzled as one among the longest serving Chief Minisers of the nation, to serve Bihar with heart & soul across eras and political entities.

Nitish, who debuted into politics in 1985 along with social service,served as the Chief Minister of Bihar multiple times, with stunning people’s mandate.

During his Chief Ministership, began in early 2000 he demonstratd resilience and acumen to take the developments of Bihar to a new heights.

His grass-root network across communities,public rapport and development frameworks, he own people’s heart that blessed him to be a 10-time CM today, during a 25 –year political up-hill journey.

Nitish Kumar first became the Chief Minister of Bihar on March 3, 2000. Since then, he has been a significant figure in Bihar's political landscape, shaping the state's development trajectory through various coalition governments.

With an innovative resolve with Samata, Nitish in his tenure, has allied with different political partners, including the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), comprising major parties like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sometimes, he has led the Mahagathbandhan, aligning with parties such as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Indian National Congress (INC), maybe dreaming for the PMship. However, his new tastes with multiparties and experiments with the adversities, have brought him ultimate success. He has found his ways out, in beating all odds with sheer solitude, with wit & intelligence.

It’s why,Nitish Kumar now is among top 10 longest-serving chief ministers. He is historically an iconic political critic to have taken oath as many times as Bihar’s longest-serving CM so far.

Nitish who is at his early seventies, has proved himself as one of the national top-10 list of longest-serving CMs so far.

As on the records, Pawan Kumar Chamling was the CM who served over 25 years i.e from December 12, 1994 - May 26, 2019.

In Odisha, Naveen Patnaik hold the Chief Ministership over 24 years starting March 5, 2000 that ended on June 11, 2024.

In West Bengal Jyoti Basu served the state over 23 years as CM that began on June 21, 1977 and ended on November 5, 2000.

Similarly, in Arunachal Pradesh Gegong Apang became CM for over 22 years. His tenure was spanned from January 18, 1980 - January 19, 1999; and then August 3, 2003 - April 9, 2007.

Lal Thanhawla served for over 22 years as Mizoram CM and finally served as the state chief till December 15, 2018.

Similarly, Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh served for over 21 years, Manik Sarkar served Tripura as CM for over 19 years.

Nitish Kumar who began his 10th innings today as Bihar CM has so far served the state and the people for 19 years.

Nitish Kumar first became the Bihar Chief Minister on March 3, 2000 -March 11, 2000. During the last 9 terms, Nitish has experienced many a socio-political challenges that obstructed his way in serving people. However, he has successfully dealt with the problems with the people’s power, to find his own way out.

Keeping up public support and co-operation of the fellows, Nitish has groomed himself as one of the ace leaders of the nation, having being sworn-in as the 10-time CM of the Bihar province.
