Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: While the crossword puzzle deep-rooted relating to the Odisha Police SI Recruitment Scam is going to be solved after arrest of the mastermind, a lavish car won by him was seized in Ghaziabad.

In a significant lead for sleuths in the high-profile SI recruitment kickback, the Odisha Crime Branch on Friday reportedly intercepted the Fortuner Car owned by prime conspirator Shankar Prusti at Ghaziabad in UP.

The high-version vehicle, intercepted and later seized by the Crime Branch, was reportedly being used as a caravan by Prusti to frequent destinations, in a bid to evade police arrest.

The sleuths however trace & tracked the vehicle, and intercepted it from the Ghaziabad City on Friday. However, the mastermind Prusty had fled the spot earlier smelling signature of the sleuths in the city.

Following the seizure, police verified the CCTV footage in the nearby areas that revealed Prusti’s escape towards the UP-Uttarakhand Border using other conveyance.

Based on the inputs, police tracked the accused’s route and chased him to intercept. Meanwhile, Prusti was apprehended from the India-Nepal border near Uttarakhand on Saturday, while he was about to flee abroad, to evade arrest.

Worth mentioning, Shankar Prusti is said to be the mastermind behind the high profile job fraud.He allegedly planned to drill the SI questionpapers with answer keys at Hyderabad and Digha in West Bengal among hundreds of aspirants, for huge sum approx Rs 25L from each. However, his venture failed and came to the limelight after as many as 114 candidates were picked from a bus leaving for Hyderabad, near Andhra-Odisha border.
