Bhubaneswar, January 27: Deputy Chief Minister and Women and Child Welfare Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday inaugurated the 'Panchatatwa Park' and launched the 'SUPOSHIT Odisha Mission' (SOM) at State Institute for Women & Children (SIWC).

She also laid the foundation stone for the 'Subhadra Resource Centre,' reaffirming the State Government's commitment to the welfare of women and children.

The 'Panchatatwa Park' is based on the five essential elements of nature - Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space. This helps in increasing blood circulation and providing mental peace.

The park features an acupressure path - a circular path in the shape of the number '8', where pebbles, stones, and sand have been used. This helps in increasing blood circulation and providing mental peace and an open-air gym.

“This will serve as a center to connect women and children with nature,” said Parida.

The 'Subhadra Resource Centre' and a 400-seater modern auditorium at the SIWC campus of which the foundation stones were laid will come up at an estimated investment of Rs 35.70 crore.

This integrated facility will include a Toy Museum and Cafeteria and serve as a dynamic hub for capacity building, research, and policy initiatives for women and children.

Highlighting Government initiatives in fighting against malnutrition, Parida said, “I urge all stakeholders to educate mothers at the grassroots level, empowering them with the knowledge to ensure that their children are in good health.”

Women and Child Development Secretary Shubha Sharma, department Director Monisha Banerjee, Additional Secretaries Anant Narayan Singh Laguri and Swayamprabha Mohanty and other senior officials along with Anganwadi workers from various districts were present.
