Bhubaneswar, Jan 29: In a significant step towards enhancing transparency in the implementation of local development projects, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the ‘Samikshya’ digital platform today. The portal was unveiled during the Chief Minister's receipt of the final report from the Sixth State Finance Commission (SFC) Chairman Dr. Arun Kumar Panda at the Lok Seva Bhawan.

The newly launched ‘Samikshya’ portal aims to provide real-time updates on the progress of various projects funded through the State Finance Commission (SFC) and Central Finance Commission (CFC) grants. These include essential infrastructure developments such as roads, drinking water supply, sanitation, street lighting, parks, and public utilities.

Citizens, elected representatives, and anyone interested can access the portal athttps://samikshya.odisha.gov.into track the progress of these projects in their locality.

During the launch, the Chief Minister directed officials to focus on improving Odisha's economic parameters, restructuring Panchayat-level governance, enhancing the quality of life for citizens, and developing both rural and urban areas to build a more prosperous state.

The report submitted by the Sixth State Finance Commission stresses the importance of strengthening the financial infrastructure of local bodies through a reliable, formula-based allocation system. It highlights the need for equity, addressing regional disparities, and catering to the specific requirements of rural and urban areas. The Commission has made both financial and non-financial recommendations to ensure the holistic development of local bodies across the state.
