Bhubaneswar, Feb 17: The Matriculation Examination, along with the State Open School Certificate (SOSC) and Sanskrit Madhyama Examination, will commence from Thursday, 19th February, and continue until 2nd March.

A total of 3,082 nodal centers, where the question papers are stored, have been equipped with CCTV cameras to ensure proper monitoring. With this arrangement, the examination proceedings will be telecast live, allowing officials to oversee activities in real time.

For the smooth conduct of the exams, the board has opened a Command Control Room, which has started functioning today. Board officials will monitor multiple nodal centers directly from the control room, and preparations at selected centers in peripheral districts are also being inspected.

To prevent malpractice, the board has formed 37 special squads, comprising teachers, education department officials, headmasters, and senior educators. Board Chairman Srikant Tarai has reviewed the role of these squads and warned that invigilators and superintendents will be held responsible if any student is caught cheating.

Additionally, 72 squads have been constituted at the district level by DEOs. Last year, live telecast was limited to 1,000 centers; this year, arrangements have been made for all exam centers. More officers and staff have been deployed in the command control room to ensure smooth operations.

According to the board, 5,46,582 candidates have registered for the matriculation examination, while 12,414 candidates are registered for the SOSC, and 2,748 candidates for the Madhyama examination.
