Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: In a move to promote women drivers, 20 women will head to Pune today for advanced training in electric bus operations. Their 5:30 AM flight tickets were provided by Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra.

The 14-day training program will equip them to independently drive electric buses in city traffic. The team is scheduled to return on 17th February. After completing the training, these women drivers will operate small and mini EV buses, including the Subhadra bus.

Notably, only women will be responsible for driving the buses, while helpers and conductors will also be part of the team to support operations.
