Haryana Preacher Detained

In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained a preacher from Haryana in connection with a major terror investigation. The individual, identified as Maulvi Ishtiyaq from the Mewat region, was apprehended in Faridabad on Wednesday. He is accused of having links to a sophisticated 'white collar' terror module.

According to police officials, Ishtiyaq is being transferred to Srinagar for intensive questioning regarding his involvement. He had been staying in a rented accommodation located within the Al Falah University campus in Faridabad, a detail that has alarmed investigators.

This detention follows the shocking discovery of a massive cache of explosives at his rented residence. Investigators seized over 2,500 kilograms of bomb-making materials, including ammonium nitrate, potassium chlorate, and sulphur. The sheer volume of the seized items points to a significant and dangerous plot.

Police sources, speaking to media, suggested that Ishtiyaq's formal arrest is imminent. If arrested, he will be the ninth person apprehended in this sprawling case. This national security threat is being dismantled piece by piece, following a series of coordinated raids conducted on November 10. The raids spanned multiple states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the network's reach.

The J&K Police investigation has successfully exposed this 'white-collar' terror network. The network allegedly has deep links to banned terrorist organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The term 'white-collar' suggests the involvement of educated professionals in extremist activities.

Police allege that the 2,500 kg of explosives were not stored by Ishtiyaq alone. The materials were reportedly kept at his residence by two other key figures: Dr. Muzammil Ganaie (alias Musaib) and Dr. Umar Nabi. In a horrifying connection, Dr. Umar Nabi has been identified as the driver of the explosives-laden vehicle that exploded near Delhi's Red Fort on Monday evening.
