Angul, Mar 14: The second Bali Yatra in Angul district concluded yesterday after a week-long celebration. The eight-day festival, locally known as Binikei Yatra, drew large crowds throughout its run, with particularly heavy footfall on the final day.

Police personnel were deployed to ensure smooth crowd management as devotees and tourists thronged the venue. The spiritually significant Binikei Yatra came alive at night with vibrant festivities.

The renowned festival of Angul, recognised as a tourist attraction, saw participation from traders and visitors from nearby regions including Boudh, Phulbani, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Sonapur, and Bolangir, who came to enjoy the Yatra and seek blessings.

Over the course of the Yatra, people purchased household items, festive goods, and wedding essentials. Often compared to the famous Cuttack Bali Yatra, Angul’s Binikei Yatra has been celebrated since 1967, continuing a long-standing tradition in the district.
