Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: Compulsory pass criteria of minimum 33 percent marks in the first year for Plus II students will be implemented from next educational session. Speaking to News7 the school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Das said, “Compulsory pass criteria of minimum 33 percent marks in the first year for Plus II students will be implemented from next year”. The decision comes amid protests across the state by students and student unions to rollback the decision that was announced by Odisha government on Monday. The state government on Monday took the decision making it compulsory for Plus II students to secure at least 33 percent marks in the first year examination. The state government should have announced the decision at the beginning of the academic session. It is announcing it just a month before the annual examination, the protesting students had pointed out earlier.
