Malkangiri, Feb 9: In a breakthrough, Malkangiri district police seized a large consignment of ganja worth Rs 1 crore on Monday. The illegal cannabis was seized from the dense forests of the Kalimela area.
According to reports, the seizure was made after a raid by Kalimela police in the Bhejangiwada forest area. Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, the police recovered a total of 54 bags containing approximately 12 quintals of ganja.
The total estimated value of the seized ganja is around Rs 1 crore. However, no arrests have been made yet in connection with the illegal consignment. The Kalimela police are continuing their investigation to identify the individuals involved in this illicit trade.
