Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: Odia Jatra craze Piyush Tripathy has been allowed to perform on stage after a long legal battle.

Following a respite from court on Tuesday, Piyush was rejoiced to entertain his fans.

According to report, Piyush was banned to perform on Jatra pandal following a court order. However, he received an interim relief from the Bhubaneswar-based court. The court permitted him to resume stage performances while the legal dispute over an alleged contract breach continues.

The legal battle stemmed for Piyush after the Surya Mandir Opera owner filed a case at the Bhubaneswar Civil Judge Court. He accused Piyush of violating a contractual agreement by joining another opera troupe.

Acting on the complaint, the court had earlier issued a notice to the actor and imposed a temporary restraint, preventing him from performing with any jatra troupe until further orders. As a result, Piyush stayed away from all stage performances in the Jatra Parties despite a number of Jatra owners were queued up for his approval.

Piyush’s counsel, Bibhu Tripathy, informed media that the court has quashed the interim order and has now allowed the actor to perform on stage.
