Rayagada, Nov 6: Mystery shrouded over the death of an Odisha Auxiliary Police Force (OAPF) jawan after his body was found lying on roadside in Odisha's Rayagada district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Gouri Prasad Tadingi.

As per reports, some locals spotted the deceased’s body lying on the roadside between Pitamahal and Jamadeipentha in Rayagada and alerted the police.

Upon getting the information, Sesakhala police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.

Though the exact cause behind the jawan’s death is yet to be ascertained, Rayagada SDPO Gourahari Sahu said that he had reported for duty on Wednesday night and was later found dead. Prima facie revealed that Gouri was suffering from health issues.

A detailed probe is underway to determine the circumstances leading to his death, said the police.
