Cuttack, Nov 11: Following the bomb blast near Lal Quila in Delhi, security has been tightened across the country.

The state police department is closely monitoring the situation due to the massive gathering of people at Baliyatra in Cuttack. Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has directed DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania to ensure the highest level of security during the festival.

On Tuesday evening, around 10 pm, DGP Khurania, along with senior police officers, visited the Baliyatra pandal to assess the security arrangements.

He conducted a thorough review with the Cuttack DCP and examined the security measures in place at various locations.

The DGP started his inspection by traveling through the pandal area in a convoy, observing the crowd and evaluating the safety protocols. Following the inspection, he visited the integrated police control room at the ground to review the security systems, including the CCTV monitoring system.

DGP Khurania also toured some crucial areas of the ground, ensuring all necessary measures were being implemented.

All police personnel and officers have been put on high alert. DCP Khilari Rishikesh has been instructed to remain on-site for the duration of the festival. Security around the ground, parking areas, and stage has been enhanced.

The DGP has also directed that all bags and large items brought into the pandal be thoroughly checked. If any suspicious items are noticed, the control room should be immediately informed. The public has been urged not to panic but remain vigilant, and the police have also increased security at the bus stands and railway stations in Cuttack.
