Puri, Dec 7: The second day of the Global Energy Leaders Summit 2025 featured a pivotal Public-Private Dialogue session on “Partnership,” highlighting the importance of sustainability, balance, and innovation in the energy transition.

Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo attended the session, which was moderated by William Morrison, Chairman of MetricsLed. Principal Secretary (Energy) Vishal Dev stressed the urgent need to shift from fossil-based fuels to non-fossil-based energy sources to ensure a successful and lasting transition.

Panelists underscored that addressing the country’s energy-transition challenges will require strong Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models, emphasizing that balanced and substantial investment is key. Odisha’s distribution system was cited as a noteworthy example of effective energy management under the DISCOM framework.

The dialogue brought together an eminent panel, including Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO of Tata Power; Debabrata Ghosh, India Head, Aurora Energy; Chandra Bhusan, CEO, iForest; Vivek Jaswal, EVP (Green Hydrogen & PMO), Renew; and Prashant Choubey, President, Avaada Group.

The summit concluded that innovative PPP investments and a balanced approach to energy infrastructure are vital for building a sustainable, non-fossil-based energy future and ensuring resilient power distribution systems.
