Phulbani,March 4: In a tragic road accident on Holi, four including a minor child lost their lives after two motorcycles collided head-on in Odisha’s Kandhamal on Wednesday.

The mishap took place at Kunduli Chhak under Gochhapada police limits.

Sources said that all the deceased belong to Panga Panchayat under Phiringia police limits in Kandhamal district.

According to reports, Two motorcycles were travelling in opposite directions. Meanwhile, they crashed near the Kunduli square due to high speed. As a result, four people died on the spot. However,a woman got a close shave with minor injuries who was rushed to the Phulbani District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

Police siezed the bodies from the spot and sent them for post mortem examinations.

A case has been initiated. Efforts are underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased persons, said the police.
