Phulbani, Nov 8: A cold wave has gripped several areas of Kandhamal district, including places like Phulbani, Daringbadi, G Udaygiri, Baliguda, Raikia, and Tumudibandh.

 Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that temperatures will remain stable for the next two days before dipping by 2–3°C over the subsequent three days.

Residents have been advised to take precautions as the cold wave sets in, especially during night and early morning hours.In many areas, a light fog has been felt, adding to the chilly atmosphere. Locals are enjoying the season’s first cold wave, with many engaging in morning walks, exercises, and outdoor games. Small crowds have begun to gather in tea stalls, relishing the warmth of hot drinks. It is expected that the cold will continue to increase, providing a boost to local tourism. Visitors from neighboring districts are expected to flock to Kandhamal to experience its natural beauty and enjoy the cold weather, which adds to the district's allure as a popular tourist destination.
