Bhubaneswar, December 31: In a remarkable achievement, the Odisha Vigilance Department secured 108 convictions in 2025, marking a significant milestone in its fight against corruption. Among those convicted, 24 government employees were dismissed from their positions as a result of their convictions.

Key Highlights:

  • 108 Convictions: Approximately 50% of the cases processed by the Vigilance Department resulted in convictions.
  • 24 Dismissals: Following convictions, 24 government functionaries were dismissed from service.
  • Pension Halts: The Odisha government also stopped the pensions of 50 retired public servants, who were convicted in Vigilance cases.

In another significant development, the Odisha Vigilance Department reported its highest-ever case disposal rate in 2025, with 479 cases concluded post-investigation, representing a 237% disposal rate.

Among these cases, the Disproportionate Assets (DA) cases saw the highest-ever disposal, with 155 cases concluded, breaking all previous records.

Furthermore, Odisha Vigilance reported that it has cleared the backlog of all-year-old Trap cases, an accomplishment that marks a new chapter in efficient case management.

Additionally, the Vigilance Department issued clearances for 58,355 public servants in 2025.

To further bolster its anti-corruption efforts,949 officers from the All India Services and State Government underwent anti-corruption training at the State Vigilance Academy.
