Bail plea of Rupesh Bhadra, accused in Haridaspur PEO Smitarani Biswal death case, rejected

Jajpur, 30/11: The district session judge today rejected the bail petition of Rupesh Bhadra, accused in the death Haridaspur panchayat extension officer (PEO) Smitarani Biswal. PEO Smitarani’s body was found hanging from the urinal of a private guest house. The body was recovered with her dupatta tied around her neck. She had been to the guest house owned by Rupesh Bhadra, the husband of the local sarpanch after distributing pension at Baligari village under Haridaspur gram panchayat. And her body was recovered in hanging condition from the urinal of the same guest house. Bhadra had recovered her body himself by breaking open the door of the urinal and admitted her in Dharmasala hospital. The family members and opposition parties had held Bhadra responsible for Smitarani’s death. He was arrested by police on the charge of abetting her suicide.
