Rayagada, Feb 13:  Rayagada district is witnessing renewed Maoist activity, even after hundreds of Maoists had surrendered recently. Posters linked to the Maoist organization were spotted near Dumaguda village, just 1.5 km from Rayagada town. Sources indicate that some division officials were involved in putting up the posters.

The posters reference Maoist leader Megha Jani, also known as Damburu Majhi, and claim that prominent Maoist figures like Sabyasachi Panda, Azad, Uday, and Nikhil are not tribals. The posters also instruct local companies to remain silent and avoid exploiting people. They assert that the Maoist organization continues to maintain a presence in the district.

The display of posters caused panic among residents of the Dumaguda area. Before the local police could respond, CRPF personnel arrived at the scene, removed the posters, and reassured villagers to prevent further fear.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as both the central and state governments continue efforts to curb Maoist influence in the region.
