Bhadrak, Jan 19: A shocking incident was reported at the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where a newborn baby girl was found abandoned in a toilet of the gynecology ward. The infant later died, while the mother has reportedly fled and remains untraceable.

According to hospital sources, the baby was discovered by a relative of another patient who had gone to use the toilet. The person immediately alerted hospital staff. It is suspected that an unidentified woman delivered the baby inside the toilet and abandoned the newborn before escaping.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, the newborn could not be saved. Hospital authorities have not yet issued an official statement, and the identity of the mother is still unknown.

An investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and to trace the woman involved.
