Infosys and Anthropic collaborate to scale Claude AI and Topaz models globally

Indian tech giant Infosys has joined forces with AI research firm Anthropic to redefine how large-scale businesses use artificial intelligence. This major Infosys Anthropic AI partnership aims to deliver specialized enterprise solutions to sectors like telecommunications, manufacturing, and financial services.

The collaboration officially kicks off with the launch of a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence. This center will focus on building sophisticated AI agents designed specifically for the telecom industry before expanding into other fields. By integrating Claude AI models—including the high-performance Claude Code—with Infosys Topaz, the companies plan to automate complex business workflows that previously required heavy manual intervention.

Unlike basic chatbots, these "agentic" AI systems can independently manage multi-step operations. For example, they can process insurance claims, handle compliance reviews, and even generate or test software code. In the banking and finance world, these tools will help firms detect risks faster and automate complex reporting tasks, while manufacturers can use the technology to speed up product design and simulations.

Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, noted that this move is a "strategic leap" toward making global organizations more resilient and responsible. By combining Anthropic’s safety-focused AI with Infosys’ deep industry knowledge, the duo aims to move beyond simple demos to real-world applications in highly regulated environments.

For the IT sector in Odisha and beyond, this partnership signals a shift toward "agent-led" engineering. Infosys is already using these tools internally within its Exponential Engineering unit to refine best practices before rolling them out to global clients. This approach ensures that legacy systems can be modernized more quickly, reducing the costs typically associated with major infrastructure upgrades.
