Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh), November 20: President Droupadi Murmu lauded the pivotal role of tribal communities in India's history during her address at the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in Ambikapur, Surguja. The event, hosted by the Chhattisgarh government, celebrated the legacy of tribal freedom fighters such as Birsa Munda.

In her speech, President Murmu emphasized the integral contributions of tribal communities to the nation, calling their role a "glorious chapter" in India's struggle for independence and national integration. She reaffirmed the central government's commitment to the welfare and upliftment of tribal populations, highlighting that tribal development continues to be a priority.

"Their sacrifices and contributions are woven into the very fabric of our nation," she remarked. "The Government of India remains steadfast in its dedication to the progress of tribal communities."

The President also commended the state of Chhattisgarh for its remarkable progress, celebrating the 25th anniversary of its statehood. She expressed admiration for the state's cultural diversity and its strong ties to neighboring states like Jharkhand and Odisha.
