Berhampur, Dec 22: A college student was killed and three others were seriously injured in a head-on collision involving a car and two motorcycles near Kainchapur village on the Huma–Purushottampur road under Rambha police station limits on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as G. Shubham Reddy, a +2 student of Khandadeuli College and a resident of CH Nuagaon under Purushottampur police station.

According to sources, four students were travelling on two motorcycles from the Purushottampur side when a car coming from the opposite direction collided with them. Shubham Reddy died on the spot, while the other three students sustained critical injuries.

The injured were initially rescued by locals and later shifted to Berhampur Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
