Bhuabneswar, Dec 30: Odisha continues to reel under intense cold conditions, with shivering temperatures recorded across most parts of the state. The biting cold has made daily life difficult, and weather experts have warned that the chill is likely to persist through the New Year.

On Sunday, minimum temperatures at 15 locations dropped below 10 degrees Celsius. Odisha recorded its lowest temperature at 3.6°C. Semiliguda registered 5.2°C, followed by Phulbani at 5.5°C, Daringbadi at 6°C, Koraput at 6.4°C, Jharsuguda at 6.5°C, Rourkela at 7°C, and Angul at 8°C during the night.

Koraput witnessed a sharp dip in temperature, recording 5.6 degrees below normal. Jharsuguda remained 4.8 degrees below normal, while Phulbani, Cuttack, Bhawanipatna, and Gopalpur recorded temperatures 1 to 1.8 degrees below average. Notably, Jharsuguda logged the fourth lowest minimum temperature for the month of December.
