Bhubaneswar, November 14: Expressing gratitude to people of Nuapada for handing a thumping victory to the BJP in the Assembly byelection, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday said that the outstanding performance and victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Nuapada by-election have ushered in a new chapter in Odisha's political landscape.

Taking to X on Friday, the Chief Minister said this victory proves the complete faith and trust of the general public in the Government's policies, ideas, and public-welfare programmes.

“The people of Nuapada have completely rejected the false narratives and promises of the opposition parties. By supporting development, they have given a clear mandate in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party. I express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every individual of Nuapada,” the Chief Minister wrote.

He also extended congratulations to BJP canidate Jay Dholakia, who registered a thumping victory with a margin of 83,748 votes in the cruicial bypoll, which was necessitated by the demise of his father and sitting BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia.

“Along with this, for this resounding victory, I extend my heartfelt thanks to our esteemed party state president Manmohan Samal, the Ministers, MPs and MLAs, as well as the party's invaluable workers,” the CM added.

“Today, Modi ji’s leadership has become synonymous with the idea of development in our country. Guided by his vision, our Government has been working tirelessly for the welfare of the people of Odisha and the progress of the state for the past one and a half years. The support and trust of the people of Nuapada have given us renewed inspiration and strength. We remain fully committed to the all-round development of Nuapada, and with your continued cooperation, we are confident of building a prosperous Nuapada and a prosperous Odisha,” the Chief Minister further wrote.
