Berhampur, Nov 16: In a gruesome incident, a man brutally murdered his elderly father following dispute over money and his intention to marry a second wife in Kabisuryanagar area of Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The deceased has been identified as Padmanabha Sahu and the incident has been reported from Barida village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in the district.

As per reports, Padmanabha’s middle son Rameshchandra Sahu is alleged to have committed the crime. Sources said that a heated argument ensued between the father-son duo last night over money and Rameshchandra’s intention to marry a second wife.

It soon escalated and later took turn a violent turn Rameshchandra reportedly attacked his father with a knife and stabbed him multiple times. He then physically assaulted him, leading to his death on the spot.

Upon getting the information, police arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem. The cops also arrested Rameshchandra for questioning in connection with the murder.

Earlier, Ramesh had also allegedly assaulted his elder brother, leaving him in serious condition.

A case has been registered and further investigations are ongoing, said the police.
