​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: In a shocking incident, an accused under interrogation at Chandaka Police Station in Bhubaneswar reportedly managed to escape from the custody, exposing significant lapses in security protocols within the police premises.

The accused has been identified as a resident of West Bengal and was being questioned in connection with a mobile phone theft case.

According to sources within the police department, the escape unfolded when the accused feigned illness and pretended to vomit. While being escorted to the bathroom by two constables, the accused pushed both officers aside and fled from the station.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a manhunt to track down the escaped accused, with ongoing efforts focused on his recapture.
