Bhubaneswar, Feb 16: Temperatures have begun to rise across coastal Odisha, with western parts of the state also witnessing a steady increase. In western Odisha, the mercury is hovering above 15°C, and night temperatures are expected to climb further in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next three days.

On Monday, the minimum temperature is likely to remain at 12°C in Phulbani and Rourkela. Jharsuguda may record 13°C, while Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar are expected to see minimum temperatures around 14°C. In most parts of coastal Odisha, the night temperature is likely to remain at 18°C or above.

On Tuesday, Phulbani may record 11°C, Rourkela 12°C, and Nabarangpur and Jharsuguda around 13°C. G. Udayagiri recorded the lowest night temperature in the state at 8°C.

Among other places, Similiguda recorded 9.8°C, Daringbadi 11.5°C, Phulbani 11.8°C, and Rourkela 12.2°C. The department has forecast that on Wednesday (18th), the minimum temperature in Phulbani and Rourkela will remain around 12°C.

Day temperatures are also on the rise. Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36°C. Sambalpur reported 34.5°C, while Bhubaneswar and Paralakhemundi recorded 33.6°C each.
