Rourkela, Jan 10: A small chartered aircraft operated by IndiaOne Air crashed in the Raghunathpali area of Rourkela on Saturday, triggering a large-scale rescue operation.

The nine-seater plane, carrying six people—four passengers and two crew members—went down around 10 kilometres after taking off from Rourkela en route to Bhubaneswar. All six occupants sustained injuries and were immediately evacuated and admitted to a hospital in Rourkela for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that although the impact caused injuries, there were no fatalities.

Rescue efforts were carried out by three fire brigade teams with support from the police and local administration. The Fire & Emergency Services Command Centre coordinated the operation to secure the crash site and assist the injured.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as the aircraft attempted an emergency landing before crashing near a village. Officials have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, once again raising concerns about aviation safety on regional routes.
