Bhubaneswar, October 30: The Mission Shakti Department has officially announced the commencement of the Odisha Women Entrepreneurs and Cultural Heritage Fair, ‘Subhadra Shakti Mela’, which will kick off on November 1. The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi at the Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.
Sharing the details of the event, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida revealed that the fair will feature 300 stalls, including 50 dedicated to food, all showcasing products created by self-help groups. A special highlight of the fair will be the participation of women who took part in the Subhadra Shakti Traditional Food Competition.
In addition to the local participation, the fair will have a national flavor, with women entrepreneurs from 11 states setting up stalls to display and sell their products. This will elevate the event to a national level, attracting a diverse range of visitors.
A fashion show promoting Odisha’s handloom sector will also be part of the festivities. The show will focus on the state’s rich textile traditions, forest products, and the exquisite variety of traditional Odia cuisine, making it a vibrant celebration of Odisha’s cultural heritage.
