Youth tortured with cigarettes in Odisha over suspected illicit affair

Nabarangpur, Mar 4: A youth and his female friend were allegedly tortured by villagers of Sindhiguda under Maidalpur police limits in the district. The matter came into light after a video of the torture went viral on social media forcing the police to arrest eight of the accused involved in the barbaric act. As per reports, the youth had been to the house of the woman when people nabbed him. Suspecting illicit affair between them, villagers tied both of them to a pole and stripped them naked. They also singed her private parts with cigarettes and later drove them out of the village. However, the video of the entire incident went viral on social media. Police have arrested eight accused including the husband of the woman in this connection. Police said that they are also trying to nab others involved in the barbaric act.
