Youth hacked to death near Rasulgarh Square in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: In a gruesome incident, unidentified miscreants allegedly hacked a youth to death near Rasulgarh Square in Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar this morning.
The deceased youth has been identified Sahadev Nayak, the president of the BMC Sanitation Employees Association. He also served as a volunteer for the police.
As per reports, two bike borne miscreants attacked Sahadev with sharp weapons and chopped his head near the Rasulgarh flyover. He died on the spot.
Some locals spotted the headless body lying on the highway and alerted the police. Upon getting the information, police rushed to the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
The gruesome incident has sent shockwaves through the city, particularly with the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention underway, which is hosting 10,000 Diaspora and foreign guests.
Till the filing of this report, the police along with a scientific team are conducting an investigation into the incident.
