Youth electrocuted in trap set for boars in Nayagarh

Nayagarh, Nov 12: A youth was electrocuted in a trap set for boars in Nayagarh on Saturday. The incident took place at Nahakapada village under Dasapala police limit late night on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Atanu Behera. Sources said Atanu and some of his friends had been to the forest in order to poach boars. They set a trap with electrical wires and charged it. Meanwhile, Atanu came in contact with the charged trap and died on the spot. Being informed of the mishap, his friends fled from the forest. On the other hand, Atanu’s family members undertook a frantic search operation but failed. Ultimately, they filed a complaint with the Dasapala police. However, Atanu’s body was spotted under Takera forest ghat. Following this, police seized the body and the electrical trap from the spot. A UD case was registered in this connection and the body was sent for a post-mortem, said police.
