Polasara, Aug 20: In a tragic incident, a youth drowned while bathing in a pond in Polasara tehsil of Odisha’s Ganjam district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Babulu Bishoyi (20) and the incident has been reported from Nimina village in Polasara.
As per reports, Babulu had gone to a pond near a Shiva temple in the village to take a bath when he drowned. Soon, locals jumped to his rescue and managed to pull him out of the water. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
A pal of gloom descended on the village following the tragic incident.
