Bhubaneswar: A ghastly incident has come to the fore where a youth attempted to sexually assault a minor girl and, when opposed, beat up the girl’s father severely in Adibasi village of Mangarajpur gram panchayat under Choudwar police station in Cuttack district recently.

The matter came to the fore after the girl’s father, on his return from hospital, lodged a complaint with the police this morning. The accused was identified as Sukant Dehuri.

The police have registered a case and started investigation.
