Balangir, May 3: A tragic accident claimed the life of a 24-year-old youth, Babul Kalsai, from Kudasingha village in Balangir district. The incident occurred while he was returning home after visiting his ailing father at Bhimabhoi Medical in Balangir.

Babul’s father, Brindaban Kalsai, had been admitted to the hospital due to serious health issues, and Babul had gone to check on him. On the way back, an unidentified vehicle, believed to be a truck by locals, struck Babul, resulting in his immediate death.

The deceased was reportedly a candidate for the Forest Guard examination and had been managing family responsibilities while his elder brother worked elsewhere. The sudden loss of Babul has left the family devastated, with his father unable to cope with the shock.

Family members have demanded a proper investigation to identify the vehicle responsible and are also seeking compensation for the loss. Police have reached the accident site and are conducting further inquiries.
