Bhubaneswar, Sept 23: No doubt exercise is essential for good health, but fitness freaks must be mindful of their health conditions to prevent injury, especially to their heart, say experts. Late stand-up comedian Raju Srivastav (59) was reportedly running on the treadmill when he suffered cardiac arrest. Singer K.K. (53), Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar (46), and "Balika Vadhu" actor Sidharth Shukla (40) also lost their lives to heart attacks at a younger age. "It's necessary to exercise under the guidance of a good trainer who has a degree in fitness training. However, most of the fitness centers in Bhubaneswar are not certified," said Durgasish Mohanty of Geneva Fitness Club in Bhubaneswar. Pre-workout is mandatory before heavy exercise and workout should be immediately stopped if one "gets symptoms of chest pain or shortness of breath or light-headedness while working out", he added. "One should also keep well-hydrated and avoid going to the gym on a full stomach," he advised. "Avoid overdoing any exercise. Moderate exercise is good enough to reduce your risk of a heart attack," said nutritionist Sushree Sangeeta Jena.
