Rumored specifications expose critical hardware upgrades for upcoming foldables.
Fresh leaks surrounding Xiaomi’s upcoming 18 Fold highlight significant internal upgrades, specifically pointing to a high-capacity 6,000mAh battery and an advanced tri-chip processing system. Slated for an early September release, this device represents another bold push into a highly competitive foldable smartphone market currently seeking longer-lasting hardware. Information shared by Weibo tipster @pandverybald suggests this new model will feature a 6,000mAh battery. This represents a notable increase over the previous Mix Fold 4, which carried a smaller 5,100mAh power cell. Charging capabilities remain steady across generations, offering 67W wired replenishment alongside 50W wireless support for quick top-ups.
Processing Power and Benchmark Performance
Internal operations rely on a proprietary tri-chip solution for maximum efficiency. Xiaomi recently confirmed its Xring O3 processor will drive both this foldable and its flagship tablet, Pad 9 Pro Max. This primary chip operates alongside an Xring O100 AI acceleration unit and an Xring D100 AI chip to handle intensive tasks. During a recent showcase in China, executives noted the deca-core processor achieved an AnTuTu score of 52,28,014 points. Its architecture features a C1-Premium core reaching a maximum clock speed of 4.35GHz, ensuring smooth multitasking capabilities.
Redesigned Form Factor and Camera Specs
Physical changes move away from a taller profile, adopting a wider cover and inner display configuration for better usability. Prior rumors indicate a 6.56-inch exterior screen combined with a 7.76-inch interior panel. Both screens will reportedly utilize LTPO technology to deliver an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate.
Leaked images highlight a visor-like rear module housing three cameras, painted in a fresh red finish. Photography enthusiasts can expect a 200-megapixel primary sensor joined by two telephoto lenses for varied shooting modes. Furthermore, an updated hinge design brings IP68 dust and water resistance, adding necessary durability to the intricate folding structure.
