Wrong blood transfusion kills woman in Rourkela!

Rourkela, Nov 11: A woman has lost her life after allegedly being transfused with the wrong blood type at the Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH). The deceased has been identified as Sarojini Kaka of Budakata village in Sundargarh district. According to the report, Sarojini suffering from sickle cell anemia was admitted to RGH on Sunday. On an urgent requirement of blood transfusion, the hospital staff had administered her with B+ve blood mistakenly instead of the required O+ve blood type. The family members have accused the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff of huge negligence which claimed Sarojini’s life. On the other hand, the Deputy Superintendent of RGH has assured that after an investigation, strict action will be taken against all the defaulters.
