World Tourism Day Walk

Kamat Hotel India Ltd., Asia’s pioneering hospitality chain of environmentally sensitive 5 star hotels and resorts successfully running its hotel brands in cities like Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Bhubaneswar, Puri etc. World Tourism Day has been celebrated since 1980 on September 27, the day in which the Statutes of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) entered into force. Team VITS Bhubaneswar participated in the “World Tourism Day Walk” hosted by EKTTA and organized by Dept of Tourism, Govt of Odisha on World Tourism Day, 27th Sept 2019. The team along with various stakeholders including artists and students walked on the theme – “Tourism and Jobs: a better future for all”. This lively procession originated from Master Canteen Square (Near Congress Bhavan) and ended at Ekamra Haat. Team Mahodadhi Palace, Puri marched with banners spreading our holistic approach to the future of work in tourism. The rally started from the Mahodadhi Palace premises, travelled along the Puri sea beach and ended at Swami Vivekananda Statue. Team Lotus Eco Beach Resort Konark participated in the cleaning activity at Chandrabhaga Beach and joined the rally on World Tourism Day at Sun Temple, hosted by Tourist Office, konark. All the team members from our Odisha Properties along with volunteers from other public and private sectors walked on spreading the awareness in line with UNWTO’s overarching focus on skills, education and jobs throughout the year.' Team members from all our respective Odisha properties under the guidance of Mr. Subho Biswas – General Manager VITS Bhubaneswar, Mr Bharat Bhushan Biswal – General Manager Lotus Resort Konark and Mr. Susant Panda - Front Office Manager Mahodadhi Palace, proactively celebrated World Tourism Day on 27th September 2019.
