Woman stages dharna before husband’s shop in Jajpur

Jajpur, Jan 7: A woman named Dalismita Sahu has staged a dharna before her husband's garment shop at Jaraka market demanding marital rights. Being informed, Dharmasala police has initiated an investigation into the matter. Sources said Dalismita had married Arvind Sahu of Neulapur village in 2020. However, Dalismita left for her parental house after a marital discord with her husband. Since then she is living there with her mother. However, on Saturday, Dalismita along with her mother staged a dharna before her husband’s shop and demanded maintenance and other marital rights. Meanwhile, police reached the spot and persuaded them to go for an amicable settlement. Both the sides were called to the police station for a settlement, said police. On the other hand, Arvind said that the divorce case in this connection is pending in Court.
