Gangapur, May 3: A 36-year-old woman, Rashmita Bisoyi, was critically injured after reportedly being assaulted by her husband in Khairputi village, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangapur police station.

Rashmita was first admitted to a local hospital in Aska for emergency care and later transferred to a MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur.

According to preliminary reports, the incident took place after her husband, Sanjay Bisoyi, became agitated over her refusal to provide ₹10,000.

Being informed, police have arrived at the scene and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
