Cuttack: Sasmita Acharya, the woman journalist, who had filed a complaint against BJD’s Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty for allegedly abusing her physically and verbally, today sat on dharna at Purighat Police Station here demanding action against the MP. The woman alleged that though she had filed an FIR against the actor-politician two months ago, police are yet to start investigation in the matter. She demanded that police initiate immediate action against the politician citing threat to her life. The woman lodged a complaint at the Purighat police station in this regard last month. “I will sit on dharna at the police station until I get justice,” alleged the woman. Earlier on June 20, she reached Naveen Niwas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik seeking CM’s intervention for justice. However, she was whisked away by the police personnel. She alleged that the MP’s brother, Anuprash, used to misbehave with her when she was doing internship with a regional newspaper in Cuttack. When she had gone to meet Anubhav in his house on June 12 night seeking his intervention into the matter, the MP and his wife abused her verbally and physically instead of the paying attention to her plight, she further alleged.
