Nabarangpur, Jan 23: A woman candidate who had filed nomination for Samiti Member has staged dharna before Tentulikhandi block office in Nabarangpur, protesting rejection of her candidature. The candidate, Namita Sagaria has been undertaking the Dharna since late night of Saturday, alleging illegal rejection of her nomination. Sources said, Namita had filed nomination for the Samiti Member for Kamta gram panchayat. However, her nomination was rejected for faulty caste certificate. Reacting to it, Namita staged a dharna before the Tentulikhundi Panchayat Samiti demanding validation of her candidature. She also alleged that, nominations of two other candidates who have submitted 3-year old caste certificates, have been entertained for contesting election. Being informed, SDPO persuaded Namita to call off her dharna. However, she denied to leave the protest till the reason of rejection is duly cited.
