Woman runs after her husband to worship on Savitree brata in Berhampur

Berhampur, June 11: In a rare occasion, a married woman of Berhampur ran after her husband in order to worship him on the Savitree brata on Tuesday. The woman covered a long distance from Bijipur to Gosaninuagaon on bare foot to get his husband worshipped. The incident came to light at Gosaniuagaon area when a married woman was found sitting on the village street with the articles of Savitree brata in a dish. She was longingly calling her married partner to come out to the forefront so that she will perform the puja rituals. She waited for long time before the parental house of her husband for the valediction of the brata. But her prayer in vain as the in-laws shut the gate before she stepped in. Being informed, Gosaninuagaon police counseled the duo to perform the puja normally but that also in vain. Notably, the duo had registered their love marriage few months ago, against the will of the parents. As a result, the husband fled much before Savitree brata living her wife alone at a rented house at Bijipur.
