Jharsuguda, May 7: A woman was allegedly gangraped on Thursday near bus stand in Jharsuguda district. A video of the heinous incident featuring the crime taking place inside an abandoned house behind the bus stand has gone viral. On the other hand, the victim has not yet lodged any complaint before police. One of the accused involved in the crime has been reported to be living in the bus stand area and engaged in day-to-day anti-social activities. He is on bail in a murder case. He previously worked as a helper in a private bus and lives in the bus stand area. Amid lockdown criminals are roaming in the area due to lack of police patrolling. In an instance, about Rs 80,000 was looted from a man in the locality few days back. Moreover, Jharsuguda Town police is not monitoring the area as the area is under the Railway Police. The area behind the bus stand is now vacant during the lockdown, that have created chances for miscreants to commit crime.
